The 9th Annual North American Repossessors Summit Continues to Raise Bar for Recovery Industry

NARS 2017 proves to be bigger and better than ever before

DALLAS, Texas – July 31, 2017 – The North American Repossessors Summit (NARS), an industry event hosted by American Recovery Association, Inc. (ARA) and sponsored by Harding Brooks Insurance, is proud to announce the success of NARS 2017. The 9th annual event ushered in a new era for the recovery and remarketing industry. From a record-breaking attendance of more than 600 attendees, including recovery and remarketing professionals and lenders, to a wildly successful auction contributing over $30,000 (up nearly $25,000 from last year) to the Recovery Agents Benefit Fund (RABF), NARS proved once again to be the “must attend” event of the year. NARS 2017 was a high-demand event for both attendees and exhibitors alike, and sponsorships and exhibitor opportunities were sold out months in advance.

We started NARS 9 years ago in an effort to bring the recovery industry together,” said Dave Kennedy, president of ARA. “We never imagined the success it would have today– bringing together professionals from all sides and raising thousands to benefit recovery agents in need.”

This year’s agenda continued the invite-only lender meetings, which allowed attendees who registered early an opportunity to meet with the many lenders who were in attendance. This opportunity led to many new relationships between agents and lenders and several newly signed contracts. Also continued from last year was the sold-out AT&T Stadium Tour, which kicked off NARS alongside the NARS Golf Tournament (which brought in another $1,000 for RABF). Other networking opportunities available at NARS 2017 were the Harding Brooks Insurance sponsored Cocktail Party and Digital Recognition Network (DRN) sponsored Patriot Party.

Thursday kicked off with comedian Sam Adams, along with entertainment throughout the day from emcee John Messiha of Xchange Leasing. The agenda boasted an impressive speaker lineup and provided many opportunities to hear about and discuss industry issues, as well as learn important topics to improve attendees’ businesses. Michele Stuart presented a two-hour course on skip tracing, teaching techniques she uses everyday as a private investigator. Attendees also learned how to best defend themselves with cameras from a panel of speakers from all sides of the industry, including Rocky Bittner of SafetyVision, Renee Low of Northern Star and Jim Hall of Hall Recovery. Roundtable sessions were packed, offering valuable insight on hot topics such as compliance, insurance, hiring and truck maintenance, led by industry leaders Dave Kennedy, Samantha Barnes, Marco Villarreal, Mike Reiter and Mike Peplinski.

NARS keynote, 9/11 hero and FDNY chief Richard Picciotto, ended the summit on a powerful note with his detailed account of the day that altered history. Picciotto spoke to how he led thousands out of the North tower just before its collapse and how, as the last men down, he and several of his fellow firemen were buried in the rubble for hours. His harrowing story will not be forgotten as NARS attendees gained a fresh perspective on the important things in life, which they will take with them forever. Other dynamic speakers included motivational speaker and former NFL cheerleader Shannon Oleen and U.S. Olympian Johnny Quinn.

NARS 2018 will be held in April 2018 in Irving, Texas. More information on the 10th annual event will be announced soon. Visit reposummit.com for more information.
