Cape Coral, FL – June 22, 2011 – Sometimes you don’t even get the chance to ask the question before a gun is pulled on you. That’s what a North American Recovery agent and a juvenile riding with him found on out when he knocked on the door of Cape Coral residence.
According to a Cape Coral police report, when the agent, who preferred not to be identified, knocked on the door of the residence, the curtains moved and the suspect flung open the front door and pressed a black pistol against the agent’s chest, asking his identity.
The suspect, also not named because the agent declined to press charges, told the agent the trailer was in Arcadia and that he couldn’t have it.
Eventually the suspect lowered the gun and the two talked about the trailer before the agent informed him he was calling the police.
The juvenile rider in the agent’s truck confirmed the reported incident with the responding police.

i agree with you steve..
need to look @ the reality show that makes us agents look to be the bad guys in each situation.obviously the show is making their money not caring about the real agents out there having the real reality happen such as this one.not a fan of the shows on tv.
Sad part is such activities are becoming a daily occurrence. Stick with the rule: man with gun wins!, game over, move one. My concern is how smart is this guy taking a juvenile on a repo with him? Easy child endangerment charge there which would turn this guy from a victim into a perp real quick. With all the crap going on now a days I do not feel comfortable with my 28 year old out there, let alone my 15 year old.

Guns in cali?Lol You know California we have everything first. I see post after post of everyone asking why so much violence. We know That the idiot tv shows have helped, but I see little about the real PROBLEM! Banks procedures ! If more agents get out of their trucks and make contact you will fond out that there has already been several previous agents there in the middle of the night demanding the unit. Banks use to be loyal to the agent so that we would do the same. Now we are in danger because some idiot agent argued with the debtors relative the day before and verified that they have not spoken to the debtor in a year, and next in line fights someones battle. Some banks have a system to give you an acct for 7 days and if not repo’d reassign. Previously if there was an altercation on an acct it would be in the notes and you would know to be careful. Know the banks hide all previous notes like verified vacant, deadend address, or residents aggressive and threathened agent to NEVER COME BACK!
Hey Sunshine-We have guns in California? Does Jerry Brown Know? Just kidding this is more serious every day. Imagine what happens if an Extreme Recovery or Cross Country agent deals with this. Does that mean we get that work?
Now read the heart attack article Kevin wrote the other day. This is the making of a perfect storm for any adjuster.

Pretty extreme for someone to come to the door with a gun. In my experience of 39yrs in the field it has only occurred twice and both times the collector for the lender had the customer so mad and then told the customer that they were sending two big dudes to visit or in one instance stated that they personally were coming to see them. I would be wary of the client.
I have had over a 100 hundred guns pulled on me and if they brandish I will not waste law enforcement’s time. If the gun is pointed at me even if they also attempt to press charges for whatever reason I always file against them. Call me a snitch but the only reason I always attempt to file is because all banks re-assign the acct over and over and don’t want the next agent to be shot. I believe if I press charges it will educate as many people as possible, especilly as property is not legal to protect in CALIFORNIA.
