IN Woman Dragged and Thrown from Repo’d Car

Indianapolis, IN – July 7, 2011 – A repossessor working for a “Buy Here Pay Here” car dealer threw a woman to the ground as he sped away during a contested repossession.

According to a Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department  report, 27-year-old Amanda Choban suffered road rash while trying to save her car from the repo man.

Michael Nettleton, who works for Front Row Motors, said he was repossessing a car at 1500 South New Jersey St. at 4 p.m. Wednesday when the owner approached, according to the report.

Both parties have conflicting stories. Nettleton claimed Amanda Choban and a man ran toward him with a pit bull. Choban said she was trying to explain to Nettleton that she had sent in a payment for the car when he “gunned” the engine.

Nettleton stated to police that he was pulling away slowly and Choban clung to the window of the car. Nettleton said when he sped up a bit Choban let go.

Police said Choban suffered road rash to her right shoulder, and was sent to Wishard Memorial Hospital for treatment.

No charges have been filed.
