Clayton, MO – August 29, 2011 – 40 year old Phylida Edwards of the Castle Point area pleaded guilty to the illegal discharge of a firearm and armed criminal action for opening fire on repossessors as they took possession of her van which was in default of her payment agreement.
She had been charged in March with discharging a firearm at a vehicle and armed criminal action for an October 22nd incident in which after the agents identified themselves, she indicated to the agents that she was going to retrieve her personal possession from the vehicle but instead, pulled out a .22 caliber pistol.
The repo men, 43 and 19 from Metropolitan Repossession and Recovery Services, quickly pulled away with the 2004 Chevrolet Venture van in tow as Edwards reportedly fired three shots toward the van, which was damaged by gunfire as the result. She reportedly later claimed she was trying to shoot the tires out. Neither of the agents were reportedly injured.
Edwards was later freed on a $50,000 bond and remains on bail awaiting sentencing in October.
