High Tech Car Thieves Give a Possible Glimpse of the Future of Repossessions

Two alleged thieves in the UK were caught on camera stealing a Mercedes without even touching the car keys. Police say they did it using technology called “relay boxes.”

West Midland, UK – 28 November 2017 – A pair of alleged thieves were caught on surveillance camera pulling off a high-tech (and high-dollar) crime, police in the UK say. The video shows two suspects approaching a white Mercedes Benz parked in a driveway. One person stands near the car while the other moves closer to the garage, each with a device in hand.

Battle Creek, MI – 19 November 2017 – Battle Creek police are seeking warrants for felonious assault for a man, 35, and his wife, 36, after a Jackson man said he was injured while trying to repossess the couple’s pickup truck. Officers were called to the 100 block of Heather Ridge Road at 9:48 p.m. Thursday by the 34-year-old Jackson man working for Dynamic Recovery Service.

Texas Repo Man Murderer Gets Life Sentence

Khalifah Ibn Muhammad, 29

Odessa , TX – November 16, 2015 – Khalifah Ibn Muhammad, 29, has been sentenced to life in prison for a deadly 2015 shooting death of 24-year-old Brandon Lee Russell in Odessa. On Wednesday a jury found found Khalifah Muhammad guilty of murder in the death of Brandon Lee Russell on September 30, 2015. Judge Stacy Trotter then sentenced Muhammad to life in prison.
