TX Repo Turns Violent – Repo Man Taken to Hospital

Hillsboro, TX, March 4, 2012 – Hill County Sheriff’s Office made a felony arrest on the  evening of Sunday,  March 4 after receiving a 9-1-1 call at 10:47 p.m. advising that a repossession attempt on a vehicle had turned violent.

The victim, a 35-year-old Rhome man told dispatchers that he had repossessed a vehicle from 35-year-old Travis Nelson, a Bynum man’s pickup on Highway 22 near the town of Mertens and was being chased on the highway toward Hillsboro by the owner in a truck tractor.

According to the report, the suspect rammed the rear end of the Repo Man’s pickup and was continuing pursuit. Deputies intervened and conducted a traffic stop of the suspect’s truck at the intersection of Highway 22 and HCR 3108 in east Hillsboro.

The reports indicated that the suspect was detained for aggravated assault with a motor vehicle.

Also injured was a 25-year-old woman, who was in the truck with the suspect, was treated for injuries sustained during the collision.

The victim was transported to Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro by Hillsboro Fire/Rescue where injury lead to insult when at the hospital Deputies interviewed the Repo Man and determined that his driver license had been suspended, and he was issued a citation for driving while license invalid.

Justice of the Peace John Milburn set bond at $5,000 on Travis Nelson.
