CU-Solutions Repossession and Remarketing Summit Atlanta – Credit Union Collectors Unite for World Class Training in the ATL

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Atlanta, GA – 25 May 2018 – On May 23rd and 24th at the Renaissance Gateway Hotel in Atlanta, CU-Solutions held it’s best yet, Repossession and Remarketing Summit, to an enthusiastic crowd of over 100.

Credit union collectors and lending personnel came from Maryland, New Jersey, Alabama, the Carolinas, Florida and as far as Washington DC to attend this unique training opportunity and were not disappointed.

From the cocktail reception on the evening of the 23rd, where attendees, speakers and vendors mixed and mingled over a buffet of some excellent local foods and cocktails, to the closing late Thursday afternoon, it was a stellar and unique educational opportunity focused on the repossession and remarketing arm of the credit unon industry. Of course, it wasn’t all business, attendees also engaged in competitive games of cornhole and Giant Jenga for prizes.

The summit opened with the always entertaining and engaging Ron Brown speaking on the five most important words during the eight steps of a collection call. The psychology of these words is actually very intuitive, but also often missed. This is a training topic that every collector should know and practice. You really need to catch this in the future if you missed it.

Michael Peplinski of Harding Brooks Insurance provided an expert view of and understanding of repossession insurance and requirements. While seemingly a dull topic, Michael breathes life into the documents via real world scenarios and application that creates clear understanding of the value of this so necessary insurance.

Andrew Horowitz, partner with the law firm of Drew Eckl & Farnham, LLP

Andrew Horowitz, partner with the law firm of Drew Eckl & Farnham, LLP, was an excellent follow up to prior the insurance topic with his presentation on credit union rights in litigation. What made this especially valuable to the attendees, was Andrew’s focus on local jurisdictional issues and procedures. His presentation and insight into the legal processes of the south and southeast provided actionable tactics the attendees could take back to their shops and use right away.

Perhaps one of the most entertaining and well rounding training sessions of the event, was the repossession remarketing panel moderated by Patrick Dunleavy of TCAR Recovery of NY. The panel, consisting of Mark Brunn, General Manager of ADESA Atlanta, Lot Swarns, Senior Regional Commercial Sales Manager for Manheim, Bob Stankovitch of The Peak Service Corporation and Chris Dunleavy, CEO of TCAR Recovery & Remarketing Services, providing a Q&A session that shared expert practices derived from their aggregate 100 plus years of experience in the remarketing field.

Ron Brown shared some excellent credit union leadership training practices and traits, acquired through work in credit union league consulting, that highlighted just how important it is that “passion” for their teams and work, along with several other ingredients, is critical for the success of every credit union. This was a presentation worthy of any business audience regardless of industry.

Jerry Farese, CEO of CU-Solutions, created another polished and professional event that was enjoyed by all and provided a level of training, unique and previously unavailable in other conferences, webinars and events.

From beginning on the 23rd, to the close of the event on the 24th, the event was both educational and engaging as well as an excellent mixer for the credit union collections personnel and attending vendors alike.
