Wesley Chapel, FL – December 24, 2013 – a 33 year old man was arrested Monday night after allegedly chasing down a tow truck driver who was repossessing his car, and ramming the back of the tow truck several times according to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. a vehicle, belonging to John Paul Wofford, 33, had been legally repossessed and was pulling away when Wofford jumped into another car and followed, according to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office.
Wofford soon caught up to the tow truck and proceeded to ram the back of the car being towed, deputies said.
During the episode, the tow truck driver called the sheriff’s office to report a road rage incident.
Wofford allegedly attempted to run the tow truck off the road, according to the arrest report, and struck the vehicle being towed a second time.
The chase continued on Country Point Boulevard where the tow truck driver pulled over near the intersection of Country Point Boulevard and English Turn Way, the report said.
Wofford attempted to corner the truck and struck it, deputies said.
Authorities arrested Wofford at that intersection a short time later and charged him with aggravated assault. He was released Tuesday after posting a $5,000 bond.
