FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 23rd, 2015 – The Certified Asset Recovery Specialist (C.A.R.S.) National Certification Program is entering its 16th year of providing professional certification to the collateral recovery industry nationwide and again this year, Recovery Industry Services Company (the RISC team) would like to take this opportunity to thank our industry for your continued support. Our training school, RISC Education Systems is the only state licensed training facility that offers certification and training curriculums exclusively to the collateral recovery industry, ensuring the highest level of professional credentialing in the industry.

Numerous lenders across the country have recognized the importance and benefits of professional certification and have recommended the C.A.R.S. Program to their recovery agency vendors. With courts across the country ruling that there are “inherent” risks associated with the self-help repossession process it is more important than ever that recovery agents acquire their professional credentials and knowledge through a nationally recognized certification program. The C.A.R.S. Program is recognized as the premier standard of excellence for acquiring those professional credentials and the program is continually updated to ensure the latest laws and other information that impact the self-help repossession process are taught.

We are approaching 7,000 graduates of the C.A.R.S. Program and we are proud to report, to our knowledge, that not one C.A.R.S. graduate has been found negligent in the numerous Wrongful Repossession lawsuits filed across the country. This speaks volumes about the effectiveness of our program in ensuring the public safety as well as the safety of recovery agents who service self-help repossession assignments.

We have received numerous letters endorsing the comprehensiveness and effectiveness of the C.A.R.S. Program from log-time industry leaders and you can read many of these letters of endorsement by visiting our website, www.RiscUS.com and clicking ‘testimonials’ at the bottom of the page.

We also have letters of endorsement from attorney’s, such as Bogdan Rentea of Rentea & Associates. Bogdan is one of the most knowledgeable lawyers in the country on the self-help repossession process.

Additionally we have the endorsement from the insurance industry, Chip Thompson, President of American Transportation Insurance Group (ATIG). ATIG is one of the country’s largest insurance agencies offering insurance coverages to the collateral recovery and towing industry.

Recovery agents recognize that the physical act of repossession creates the most potential danger in the self-help repossession process. In 2007, we created the Field Recovery Specialist (FRS) National Certification Program that included numerous scenarios and examples confronting the recovery agent in actual repossession situations and suggestions on how to handle these potentially dangerous situations to ensure the safety of the recovery agent as well as the debtor and possible third parties. The FRS Program was subsequently consolidated into the C.A.R.S. Program in order to reduce the cost of certification.

Several years ago, the State of Louisiana passed legislation that requires Continuing Education for licensed Recovery Agents. RISC immediately created eight Continuing Education courses that are accepted and used extensively by Louisiana recovery agents who are renewing their licenses.

RISC has a licensed insurance agent and consultant on our team who has been licensed since 1991 to assist recovery agents in obtaining proper and adequate coverages at the most competitive prices. We also have a RISC team member who is accepted by both federal and state courts to provide expert opinions on Wrongful Repossession litigation and who consults with recovery agents across the country on questions related to the self-help repossession process at no charge to the recovery agent.

With the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), RISC immediately created the RISC Compliance and Operations Manual which is designed to assist recovery agents in meeting the compliance mandates of both the CFPB and the lending community.

The RISC team has over 60 years experience in all aspects of the collateral recovery industry and continues to be on the cutting edge of industry needs, including Certification, Continuing Education, Insurance consulting, Business Building documents, and other assistance.

We plan to be a part of the industry for the long-term to service our brother and sister professionals and we thank you again for subscribing to our services.
