North American Repossessors Summit Announces 5th Annual Golf Tournament

IRVING, Texas – March 16, 2017 – The North American Repossessors Summit (NARS), an industry event hosted by the American Recovery Association (ARA) and headline sponsor Harding Brooks Insurance, is pleased to announce its partnership with MVTRAC to host the fifth annual NARS Golf Tournament at the beautiful Dallas Cowboys Golf Club.

The 2017 event will take place on Wednesday, July 26 with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. For $200, NARS attendees will have the opportunity to play at the world’s only NFL themed golf club. This price includes: golf balls, a GPS, a golf cart, buffet style breakfast and lunch, plus any non-alcoholic beverages.

CORP Issues Letter to RDN on Lender Solicitation

The following was a letter sent to Recovery Database Network (RDN) by the Council of Repossession Professionals (CORP):

it has been a concern of ours that information entered by the repossession agencies could be used for marketing purposes by your affiliate corporation, PAR North America. Our industry enters proprietary information into RDN every day; the names and contact information of creditors, our fee amounts, and other data. It would not be difficult to assess the size and scope of various creditors, and have PAR North America target our clients based on this information.

CORPS Announcement –CARS Revises Contract

Over the last few months the Council of Repossession Professionals (CORP), has been asked to address concerns regarding service level agreements (SLAs), aka contracts. The CORP is made up of representatives from all of the State and National Associations/ Groups throughout the United States. Due to widespread industry concern involving service level agreements (SLAs) member agents have asked their respective associations for help when it comes to (SLAs).   The CORP’s mission is to address issues of industry concern for agents, clients and suppliers. Our goal is to reach an amicable resolution that is fair and balanced for all parties.

CORP Issues Statement on Service Agreement Contracts

25 Feb 2016 – It has become more and more frequent that we as an industry have been asked to sign service contracts which are one-sided in many respects, providing maximum protections to the financial institutions while exposing our industry to greater liability, even in cases where the financial institutions are solely responsible for the actions that give rise to this exposure.

CORP Article Clarification

This article is in no way intended to create discourse or disharmony.  Rather, a desire merely to respectfully clarify to your many readers and to our more than 5,000 CARS graduates the term “CARS” as used in the recent announcement of the formation of the Council of Repossession Professionals (CORP).  The CORP article actually intended the term “CARS” to mean “Consolidated Asset Recovery Systems” but, in using the term “CARS” in the context of the CORP article it has been confusing to many graduates of the Certified Asset Recovery Specialist (CARS) National Certification Program.
