FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NorthLegal Training and Publications has announced the dates and locations for its 2018 bankruptcy and collections conferences. Registration is now open, so if you plan on attending you can do so now using this year’s or in a few weeks using next year’s, whichever works best for your budget.
More details are available at northlegal.com, but here is a summary:
The Bankruptcy Fundamentals Seminar is a one-day program intended for those who are new to bankruptcy, those who are in management and only need to know the “big picture,” and those who have been handling bankruptcy cases at a small institution for a while and can use a refresher. The seminar will be held on June 18, 2018, in beautiful San Diego, California.
The Advanced Bankruptcy Conference is an in-depth three-and-a-half day event intended to help those who handle consumer bankruptcy issues learn and stay on top of the complex laws and court decisions that affect what you can and cannot do when a borrower has filed bankruptcy. The Advanced Bankruptcy Conference will also be held in San Diego, from June 19 through 22, 2018.
The Consumer Collections Conference is also a multi-day program that provides detailed, practical information about the many laws that govern financial institutions when it comes to recovering consumer debt, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Military Lending Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, CFPB regulations, repossession laws, and a lot more. The Consumer Collections Conference will be held from August 13 to 16, 2018, at the Grand Hyatt on the famous River Walk in San Antonio, Texas.
A Business Partners Reception will also be held at each of the conference locations (on June 20 in San Diego and on August 14 in San Antonio). Repossession agencies, collection agencies and others interested in participating may contact NorthLegal for more information.
More detail about each of these programs is now available at northlegal.com. If you have any questions, call NorthLegal Training and Publications at 623.537.7150n@northlegal.com
Speakers
The primary speaker for the seminar, Eric North, is a practicing attorney who has represented the interests of consumer lending institutions for more than thirty years. Prior to practicing law, Eric worked within various financial institutions in lending, collections, and operations departments, and managed several of those institutions. This experience allows Eric to bring practical, as well as “legal” information to those who attend his programs.
In addition to practicing law, Eric dedicates a significant portion of his time each year to the training of hundreds of consumer credit professionals throughout the United States through local programs presented on behalf of dozens of state and national trade associations, through periodic NorthLegal Webinars, and through the annual NorthLegal Advanced Bankruptcy Conference and the NorthLegal Consumer Collections Conference.
