Los Angeles, CA – July3, 2025 – The California Credit Union Collectors Council (CCUCC) is pleased to announce that Joel Bowen, President of CCUCC will be awarding the 2025 Impact Award to Juanita Bankhead, Asset Recovery Manager at Firefighters First Credit Union. Juanita has been serving as the Vice President of the North Los Angeles Chapter for the past 25 years. Juanita has over 45 years of experience in the Collections Industry and has extensive experience in various areas of collections.
In her illustrious career, she worked for a collection agency, a repossession agency, two Law firms, two banks and two credit unions. She is also a member of the San Fernando Valley Fair Housing committee as well as the Sylmar neighborhood council.
The second Impact Award will be presented to the Law office of Prenovost, Normandin, Dawe & Rocha. The firm represents credit unions in civil litigation throughout the State of California. They have been representing creditors for over 30 years including cases related to, Claim and delivery, deficiency balance claims, consumer debt collections and defense of consumer counterclaims based upon alleged violations of FDCPA, Rosenthal Act, and Rees-Levering Act.
Tom Prenovost, Founder, Managing Principal, along with Karel Rocha, Principal and Jason Meyer, Associate Attorney, have served as Associate Board Members on a number of Local Chapters. Additionally, over the years, Tom and Karel have presented at our annual conferences as well as speaking regularly at chapter meetings.
Joel Bowen and the Executive Board are honored to present this year’s 2025 Impact Award to these two recipients. This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have exhibited exceptional leadership and made significant contributions to the CCUCC and the credit union movement.
The award presentation ceremony will take place on October 23, 2025, at the Silver Legacy Resort in Reno Nevada.

The stage is set and Reno, Nevada, “The Biggest Little City in the World,” and on October 22-24, 2025, at the iconic Silver Legacy Resort the California Credit Union Collectors Council (CCUCC) 38th Annual Collections and Lending Conference, is taking place on at the iconic Silver Legacy Resort and will be host to the credit union collections industries premier event, bringing together credit union professionals, collections experts, and lending leaders from across the nation.
