Protect California Credit Unions – Make Your Voices Heard!

If you have not done so already, please submit your “Connect for the Cause” message to your California State Assemblyperson regarding AB 2501 as soon as possible! We currently have just over 4,000 messages sent and need to reach 10,000.

Make Your Voice Heard!

Assembly Member Monique Limón has introduced AB 2501, a bill granting long term payment forbearance to homeowners and car owners. While well intentioned, AB 2501 will have a huge detrimental impact on credit unions and their ability to work with members needing assistance. It will also drive up the cost of all lending products for all members. This bill envisions a one-size-fits-all approach, allowing all Californians to pause their home and auto payments for up to one year, regardless of need, thereby placing an immense strain on your credit union.

AB 2501 already passed out of the Assembly Banking and Finance Committee and the Assembly Appropriations Committee, but with the acknowledgement of major credit union concerns. As the bill heads to the Assembly Floor for a key vote, we need YOU to reach out to your Assembly Member today!
