ARA and NFA merge into one trade association and ARMS & Relliance combine into one co-op
AUSTIN, Texas – Feb. 26, 2013 American Recovery Association (ARA) and National Finance Adjusters (NFA) announced today they merged into one trade association. The combined resources and memberships of these two long standing, well respected entities will result in the strongest trade association the industry has ever seen. The new trade association will move forward under the name of the American Recovery Association (ARA).
Progress………….
iamalex2, glad you are getting a return on your dollar with TFA. That’s great, support them. I don’t know why you say “TFA marketed themselves to lienholders and credit unions” as tho other associations don’t. ARA has put over 33,000 printed directories in the hands of lien holders this year and does far more marketing than other associations. Stay with TFA if you can but definitely join ARA where you will see additional return on your dollar. Be sure to be at the NARS conference this April in Dallas and get in on the action.
I applauded both ARA & NFA, Mary Jane & Jerry, and all of those that worked hard to make this merger possible. I Jennifer, as well as many others, spent years trying to get this done, so I applauded their efforts as well.
We joined TFA last year after many years of not wanting to belong to any association. We choose TFA over the other 3 due in large part because we could actually see a tangible return on our dollar because TFA marketed themselves to lien holders and credit unions.
This merger has got us re-thinking this process again. We feel TFA is a great association and the members and board are wonderful to work with and learn from. We have to admit, the choice for us always comes down to what’s best for us as a business and the staff we support.
While leaving TFA would be hard for us, unity amongst our industry and associations seems to be a better path to follow. This will be a very tough decision for us faced with this new development. We are sure we are not alone in this position. We would like any feedback anyone could offer on this topic.
