Sioux Falls, SD – October 7, 2014 – A mother and son face drug and aggravated assault charges after the 18-year-old son allegedly threatened a repo man with a handgun.
Police say Justus Zafft is accused of threatening a Dakota Adjusters employee in traffic at 14th and Minnesota.
Officer Sam Clemens says the repo man recognized the car Justus was driving as one on their list to be repossessed. The employee got out of his car at a stop sign and approached the Nissan vehicle Zafft was driving.
When the employee approached the vehicle, the driver threatened him with a handgun before driving off. Police later stopped the vehicle near 28th Street and Minnesota Avenue. A search of the car turned up a loaded handgun, several narcotic related items in relation to the production of methamphetamines and cash.
Both 18-year-old Justus Zafft and his mother, 52-year-old Lesa Zafft were arrested. Justus Zafft is charged with aggravated assault. In addition, Zafft and his mother are both being charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana among other charges.
