Not Too Late to Sign Up! – NorthLegal – Upcoming Bankruptcy / Collections Training

NorthLegal training programs have a proven record of providing participants with detailed, practical information that helps them comply with (and get the most benefit from) the complex consumer collections and bankruptcy laws that govern them.

The Advanced Bankruptcy Conference will be held from June 19 through 22 in beautiful San Diego, California. This program will provide detailed, in-depth training regarding advanced Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 consumer bankruptcy issues for consumer financial institutions. It helps attendees prevent mistakes that can result in litigation while also avoiding “leaving money on the table” because of unasserted rights.

For those not quite ready for—or who do not need—an advanced program, the Bankruptcy Fundamentals Seminar is a single-day class held the preceding Monday, June 18, also in San Diego. The Bankruptcy Fundamentals Seminar is for those who are new to collections or bankruptcy, those who have experience but deal with cases infrequently, and those in management who need “big picture” information to help them supervise without getting bogged down in too much detail. This class is provided for free to those who register for the Advanced Bankruptcy Conference.

The Consumer Collections Conference is a multi-day event that focuses on non-bankruptcy consumer collection issues such as The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act; UDAAP laws; FCRA rules regarding credit reporting disputes; repossessions; collection from military personnel; denial of services; liens on deposits; cross-collateral clauses; TCPA; using email and text messaging to communicate; rulings of the CFPB; and more. The Consumer Collections Conference will take place from August 13 through 16 on the River Walk in San Antonio, Texas.

Early registration for the Bankruptcy Fundamentals Seminar and the Advanced Bankruptcy Conference ends next Friday, April 13, so if you are interested you’ll want to act soon. Speakers

The primary speaker for the seminar, Eric North, is a practicing attorney who has represented the interests of consumer lending institutions for more than thirty years. Prior to practicing law, Eric worked within various financial institutions in lending, collections, and operations departments, and managed several of those institutions. This experience allows Eric to bring practical, as well as “legal” information to those who attend his programs.

In addition to practicing law, Eric dedicates a significant portion of his time each year to the training of hundreds of consumer credit professionals throughout the United States through local programs presented on behalf of dozens of state and national trade associations, through periodic NorthLegal Webinars, and through the annual NorthLegal Advanced Bankruptcy Conference and the NorthLegal Consumer Collections Conference.
