Sacramento, CA – 8 June, 2020 – According to a lobbyist source, AB 2501 can not be taken up today as will this can only be a second reading since revisions were made to it between earlier committee votes. Further hindering it’s third reading, requisite for vote, is the states looming budget deadline of June, which both houses are primarily focused on at this time.
As such, today is expected to be merely a second reading and not a vote. It is improbable that the full assembly will take up this bill until sometime after June 15.
This provides valuable time for additional grassroots and lobbying efforts to stop this “Job Killer” bill.
