Texas Repo Man and Woman Passenger Shot

Anderson County, TX – October 17, 2012 – An Texas Repo Man and his female passenger were both shot as they were leaving a repossession with the borrower in chase.

Just after 10pm on Tuesday, Vic Crawford and Jennifer Miller of Investor Recovery Service of Tyler, TX went to the residence of 64-year-old, Doyle Henry Cook, Jr. to repo truck. The tow truck had hooked up to the pickup and was driving away when Mr. Cook came out of the house and fired several shots at the tow truck.

According to police, Mr. Cook then proceeded to chase after the man and woman in another vehicle, passing it and turning around to block it at an intersection. It is reported that this is when Mr. Cook got out of his vehicle and fired numerous shots at the tow truck while it was stopped and attempting to pull around his vehicle.

About a half a mile north of the shooting the wrecker dropped the repossessed pick-up while still in motion and the pick-up came to rest in a ditch on the north side of the road.

Mr. Cook stopped pursuing the wrecker at this location and was still there when deputies arrived on the scene.

Both victims were found in the wrecker with gunshot wounds.

Mr. Crawford had a gunshot wound to the shoulder and side of head. And Ms. Miller had a gunshot wound in the hip. Both victims were taken to Palestine Regional Medical Center, then transported by ambulance to Tyler.

Mr. Cook was taken into custody and transported to the Anderson County Jail. He has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

  1. Assault! Clearly it was attempted murder, Cook apparently had no regard for human life. Sounds like this guy thought he was in a movie, Crawford should have just mowed him down when this crack pot stood down on him, save everyone some time and trouble. This should be treated as the crime it is. Guns don’t kill, it’s the idiots that use them wrong that kill. I’d love to know if this guy has a criminal record. Is this gonna be in the next episode of repo games or whatever stupid repo show is still on the air
