Used Card Dealer Arrested for Pulling Gun on Customer during Repossession

gun_at_headParis, TN – June 1, 2015 – A used car dealer was arrested on felony aggravated assault charges Friday afternoon after he allegedly pulled a gun on a customer while trying to repossess a vehicle.

Adam S. Brockwell, 30, of 1005 Chickasaw Road was arrested at his business, Brockwell Auto Sales northeast of Paris by the Henry County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the police report, Brockwell is accused of pointing a handgun at a man on Highway 79 northeast of Paris while attempting to repossess a car.

Witnesses at the scene stated the victim’s car, which had recently been purchased, had broken down and that when Brockwell arrived at the home to retrieve the car, he got into an argument with a woman at the home.

When told to leave by the man who had purchased the vehicle, Brockwell allegedly pushed the man into the passenger side of the car, pulled out a pistol, pulled the slide back before pointing the gun at the man’s chest.

The victim said he heard a click, then Brockwell pulled the slide back again and pointed it at his neck.

After the victim heard a second click, Brockwell pulled the slide back again, and pointed the gun at his head.

At this point, an unidentified man got out of Brockwell’s truck, stated, “I just saved your life,” and left with Brockwell.

Brockwell stated the other man had been yelling at him and spitting in his face.

He allegedly admitted to pushing the man and pulling the gun, but said he never pointed it at him.

A .380-caliber Diamondback pistol and a cartridge with five rounds were taken as evidence during the arrest.

Brockwell’s bond was set at $20,000, and he was ordered to have no contact with the victims, the report indicated.

Brockwell is scheduled to appear Tuesday in Henry County General Sessions Court.
