The word “con” in con man comes from the term “confidence man.” And, I imagine, it takes a great deal of confidence to walk into a car dealership with fake ID and documents and attempt to perpetrate this kind of fraud. Unfortunately for one unnamed man caught on video, confidence is something he clearly has little or none of as we watch a dealership employee tear him down before he “heads” for the door.
It is unknown where or when the attached video found on Instagram came from or who any of the parties are, but when you look at the fraudster, he clearly appears to be in over his misshaped head. We have no idea just how bad, the quality of his fake documents were, but the dealership employee does a pretty good job of sending him running with his tail between his legs.
When you look at the aspiring but flailing con man, he exudes none of the confidence or poise that one would suspect of a person making such an audacious effort to defraud a dealership and a lender. Forget the body language and bulbous head, it’s hard to believe that for even a second this man was capable of imposing any suspension of belief necessary to pull of the fraud.
Normally, my gut feeling is that I want to see people like this kicked repeatedly in the crotch until the last vestiges of their shriveled organs drip down their pant legs and gather in a puddle at their feet. But I almost feel sorry for this one.
I said almost.
Kudos to the dealership for kicking this crumb to the curb.
